Why is an Orangery called an Orangery?

Historically the orangery was first introduced ot Northern Europe in the 1700’s.  They didn’t become very popular untill the 1800’s. They get their name from the surrounding gardens which would have had orange trees growing.  Evenutally the term orangeries because used to describe the Orangery building itself.
